The Job I Would Like to Have

To be frank with you, I have had no specific direction of my future career. Nevertheless, it is absolutely doubtless that I am looking forward to an inspiring job to which I would like to devote myself.

What is an inspiring job? As far as I’m concerned, it should be an appealing job; it should be a job that provides gratification and satisfaction; it should be a job through which I can bring happiness to others who are in need. Let me expound those aspects for you in details now.

Above all, an inspiring job should appeal to me. Let me give you an example by assuming a scene. This is a lovely morning: birds are singing delightfully outside your well-decorated window, the sunlight is shining on your bed making you feel warm and comfortable. And not only that, a smell of coffee wakes you up gently. There’s no doubt that you would be filled with refreshment and energy. Interest is to one’s career what attraction is to one’s life. There is nothing more heartening and encouraging than interest, for it is strongly stimulate one to exert himself. As a saying goes, “Interest is the best teacher.”

What’s more, as I have mentioned, this job should bring about gratification and satisfaction. Such as one option of all my career plans---- a charitable traveler. It is a person who travels all over the world but definitely not solely for fun. He should be willing to help anyone in need, such as the poor and the handicapped. By appreciating the spectacular landscapes, one gets the chance to embrace the

marvelous nature. Also, by helping others, one eventually finds himself enjoying the enduring satisfaction produced by self-approval. This is somewhat resemble a humanitarian but with more freedom.

Finally, the last and also the most essential point is to gain and meanwhile create happiness for both myself and others through the job. Here comes the substantial distinction between pleasure and happiness. The former is merely an instinctive and superficial reaction of momentary pleasantness. On the other hand, however, happiness is a kind of peaceful, long-lasting sense of profound and spiritual enjoyment. That being so, if a job has such spiritual force, then it is certainly not a simple work, it has become a way that brings about universal love to oneself as well as others.

Admitting this kind of job is a little bit far from our reality, I still stick fast to chasing after such dream. The reason why I insist upon it is that I am a common human being and I will have no opportunity to live once more, so why not perform better and do what I really want to do? Why not support myself with a job that can inspire and provide me passion at the same time?
