牛津英语深圳版七年级Unit 3 The Earth I. Material Analysis
The reading I'm going to teach is Unit 3 The Earth from Oxford English, published by Shanghai Educational Press. The reading text is about protecting the Earth. It introduces some environment pollution and aims to raise the awareness of environment protection.
II. Learners Analysis
My students are from Grade 7. They have the awareness of protecting environment, so it won't be hard to help them understand the theme. However, how to talk about these environment issues in English may be a little challenging for them.
III. Learning objectives
By the end of this lesson, my students will be able to
a. remember new words from the text like burn, provide, pollute and kill and explain them in English
b. introduce the environment on the Earth by using there be sentence structure c. get familiar with the topic of environment protection

The lead-in was very creative, and it related to the authentic context because Shenzhen was issuing the new policy about garbage sorting at that time. Meanwhile, the whole reading procedures was smooth and students were able to get the reading skills after reading it. However, in this lesson, some speaking activities were missed since I didn't realize that students need to read the materials out loud no matter what they read, which means the whole lesson was too quiet because I didn't create any 2
opportunities for them to read the text loudly.
