短文改错
假定英语课上老师要求同学们交换修改作文，请你修改你同桌写的以下作文。文中共有10处语言错误，要求你在错误的地方增加、删除或修改某个单词。
增加：在缺词处加一个漏词符号(∧)，并在其下面写出该加的词。 删除：把多余的词用斜线(\\)划掉。
修改：在错的词下面画一横线，并在该词下面写出修改后的词。 注意：1.每处错误及其修改均仅限一词：

Jack had gone to a university to study the history，but at the end of his first year，his history professors failed him in his examinations，and he was told why he would have to leave the university.And，his father decided to see the professor to urge him to let Jack continue his studies the followed year.“He's a good boy，if you let him pass this time，I'm sure he'll improve a lot next year and pass the examinations by the end of it.”said Jack's father.“No，no，that's quite impossible，”replied the professor immediate.“Last month I asked him when Napoleon died.He didn't know！”“Please，sir，give him other chance，”said Jack's father.“You see，we didn't have any newspapers in our house，so none of us even know that Napoleon was ill.”

Angela works at a university as adviser.Students can come and ask her for many problems if they need help or advices.Most of them are worried about their studies and exams.Some of them have problems connect with renting flats，though the biggest problem was loneliness.Universities are excited places but some students find difficult to make friends.They miss their families but feel lost in the new environment.They're upset.Angela's job is to listen to and try to understand whether they are thinking about.And of course she also gives practical advice when she is needed.

Yesterday I showed to my friend Peter around Beijing city.We started off at 8：
00 am.First we went to the Forbidden City，which was one of the most popular tourist spot in Beijing.Then we visited the History Museum.We observed a lot of valuable things in them and we learned a lot about Chinese history.After a quick meal，we went to Beihai Park.Upon arrival，we were all struck by its beautiful scenes.We spent a whole afternoon appreciated the wonder.It was until 18：00 pm that we went back.We did have a wonderful time.Peter was very pleased with my arrangement that he invited me to a new-built western restaurant to have a big meal.

A lady once wrote a long story and sent to a famous editor.After a few week，the story was returned to her.The lady got very angrily.She wrote to the editor，“Dear sir，how do you know why the story is not good？You didn't read it.After I sent it to you，I pasted pages 21,22 or 23 together.This was a test to see whether I would really read the story.When it came back，the pages still pasted together.Is this the way in that you read the stories that are sent to you？”The editor writes back，“Dear madam，at breakfast when I open an egg，I don't have to eat the whole egg in order to discover that it is bad.”

One day a lady sees a mouse running across her kitchen floor.She was very afraid of mouses，so she ran out of the house and went into a shop there mousetraps were sold.The shopkeeper said to her，“Put some cheese in it，you will soon catch that mouse.”The lady went to home with her mousetrap.But when she looked in her cupboard，she could not find some cheese in it.She did not want to go back to the shop，unless it was too late.She cut a picture of some cheese out of a magazine and put it in the trap.In her surprise，the picture of cheese was quite successfully！When the lady came down to the kitchen a next morning she found a picture of a mouse in the trap beside the picture of the cheese!

A man was driving on the road.Suddenly his car stopped.He got out of the
car tried to find out the trouble.“It's the motor.”said the voice behind him.He was surprising and turned around.But he saw only an old horse.“Did you say something？”he asked.“I said you should check yours motor，”the horse replied.The man rushed to the nearer house.With a very excited voice，he told the farmer had happened.The farmer，therefore，showed no sign of excitement.He explained.“He didn't know anything about cars.He can only repeat what I often say.”
