摘要：An originating endpoint (102) supports visual presence indications. Theoriginating endpoint (102) determines a destination endpoint (104) with which toestablish a desired communication session (122). A network (106) communicates anotification message (202) to the destination endpoint (104) regarding the desiredcommunication session (122). Prior to establishing the desired communication session(122) and in response to the notification message (202), the originating endpoint (102)receives image capture data (210) representing the surroundings of the destinationendpoint (104). The originating endpoint (102) may then determine from the imagecapture data (210) whether to continue or terminate the attempt to establish thecommunication session (122). Visual presence indications (120) may increase productivityby reducing the time that would otherwise be spent on unsuccessful call attempts. Visualpresence indications (120) may also conserve network bandwidth and processingresources that would otherwise be spent on the unsuccessful call attempts.
