教学目的、要求(分掌握、熟悉、了解三个层次): 1.知识目标:

(1)掌握并能灵活运用本单元出现的重点词汇。

动词及它的过去式:stay(ed), visit(ed), go (went), do (did), is/am (was) (2)用“where did you go…” “Did you…”询问他人过去的经历。 (3)掌握以下句式:

——Where did sb. go (on vacation)? ——Sb. went to … (on vacation). (3) 一般过去时的应用。 2.能力目标:

学会谈论发生在过去的事情;能听懂以谈论假期做过的事情和谈论过去的事件及自己的感想为话题的语言材料,并获取相关信息。能以“Talking about holidays and vacations”,“Talking about past events”为话题与他人进行交流;能利用该话题进行情景对话及角色表演。 3.情感目标:

本单元的教学内容与学生的实际生活息息相关,容易激发学生的兴趣,从而乐于运用简单的英语与他人进行交流。学习活动中学生通过交换对过去发生的事情的描述及看法,从而促进学生之间和师生之间的情感交流,增进友谊。

教学内容(包括基本内容、重点、难点): 重点和难点

1. 一般过去时及其应用。

注意:本课难点是动词过去式要加“ed”,而学生在描述过去时时容易遗忘动词的“ed”,在运用不规则动词过去式时容易直接加“ed”.

2.运用一般过去时描述自己的假期情况及过去的事情。

Produce the songs about some places of interest, such as the Grand Jiuzhai the Yellow Mountain, the West Lake and so on. (优美的歌曲能给师生提供一个轻松愉快的课堂氛围,为课堂教学中师生能够默契配合创造条件, 同时这些如同仙境的风景地区让学生感受到祖国的美丽、可爱。) Step2. Presentation:

When it produces the songs of the Grand Jiuzhai, the teacher asks: “What is the song about? Can you guess?” Ss: Jiuzhai Gou.

T: Yes, the Grand Jiuzhai. It is a place of interest. Now there are some pictures of places of interest, too. Guess what they are. T: I went some place last summer vacation. Guess where I went. You can ask like this: “Did you go to…?” 1: Did you go to the Yellow Mountain? T: No, I didn’t。

S2: Did you go to the West Lake? T: No, I didn’t.

S3: Did you go to the Grand Jiuzhai?

T: Yes, you are right. You are so clever. I went there with all the teachers in our school. It was very beautiful. The water there was fantastic. The weather was quite cool in summer. The people were very friendly. But later, it rained, it was rainy. How was my vacation, do you know? I want to tell you my vacation was really exciting, but the bus trip was boring.

Then get the students to read new words: vacation, friendly, rainy, fantastic, boring. Let the students try to guess what they mean.(歌曲学生爱听, 优美风景学生爱看, 猜谜学生更有浓厚的兴趣, 通过这些学生喜闻乐见的形式,不知不觉地引出了本课话题, 过渡自然。) Step3. Ask and answer:

Get the students to ask and answer in pairs like this: A: Where did you go on vacation? B: I went to…on vacation. A: How was your vacation?

B: … was pretty good / exciting / relaxing / boring / awful /

beautiful.

A: How were the mountains / water / lakes / beaches…there? B: They were beautiful / fantastic / wonderful… A: How was the weather there?

B: It was rainy / sunny / cloudy / snowy /… A: How were the people there?

B: They were kind / friendly / unfriendly…

Get the students two minutes to get ready for it, get them to ask and answer in pairs. (采用常见的pair work, 培养学生说的能力,并在说英语的过程中感受过去时态的用法, 熟悉本课要求掌握的几个形容词。) Step 4 New lesson

1.Present the new words and phrases.

T: In unit 9 we have learned the simple past tense, this lesson, we continue to talk about past events.---Unit 10 where did you go on vacation? Before the class, I bring some photos of famous

people, you must like them. On May Day they went on vacation, where did they go on May Day? Do you want to know? Ok! Look , who is he? S: He is Xiao Shenyang.

T: Where did he go on May Day? Look at this photo.

S : He went to the beach.(show the students some pictures of beautiful places, including the pictures of New York City,

Shanghai Museum, the Yellow Mountain and the beaches, teach them the new words “New York City, summer camp, the beach, the museums” at the same time.)(通过学生喜爱的歌曲和熟悉的画面, 引出本节课的部分生词,为学生展开后面的话题扫除生词障碍。)

2. Teach 1a. just now, we talked about some famous people’s vacation, open your books at page 59.There are some cute boys and girls in it, they also went on vacation on May Day. Where did they go? Let’s have a look at it.

First: look at 1a.These are all the past forms of verb phrases. Read them loudly twice together.

Then: Match the activities with the pictures (a-g)and remember them.

Last: check the answers.

3 .Teach 1b Fist: T: we have learned some activities in 1a.Do you remember? Point a picture and ask: what activity? S: Went to the beach

T: Who went to the beach? S…

Then: let Ss listen to the tape and number the people (1-5) in the picture.

Last: listen again and check the answers. 4. Practice the drill (1c).

A: Where did Tina go on vacation? B: She went to the mountains. Step5. Play the guessing game.

Before playing this game, give a piece of paper to each student, and ask them to write down which places he or she went to on vacation. After writing down the answers, get them to hand in their paper.

T: Now I know all places you went. I know xxx went to some place on vacation. Guess where she went. You can ask like this: “Did he / she go to…?” The boys and the girls have a game. First write some present tense and past tense statements on the blackboard like this:

I often stay at home. I stayed at home yesterday. He visits the museum. He visited the Science Museum last week.

They go to summer camp. Jim went to summer camp. Tell the students that when we talk about the past events, we must use the past tense, then underline the words “stayed, visited, went”. We must use the past tense

verbs. Tell the students the regular “ed” past tense verbs, eg: visit—visited rain—rained like—liked hope--hoped play--played stay—stayed carry—carried hurry—hurried (让学生根据这些单词总结动词过去式的规则变化:1. 一般情况下动词后面+ed 2. 以不发音的e 结尾的, 过去式加d 3. 以y 结尾的, y前面是元音字母, 直接加ed, y 前面是辅音字母,去y变ied。) The irregular past tense verbs: is / am—was are—were go—went do—did have—had eat—ate find—found make—made feel—felt. Get the students to pay attention to their pronunciation. 清辅音后面加ed / d 发/t/,浊辅音或元音后面加ed / d / ied 发/d/, 在t /d 后面发 /id/.
