Description

GlutaMAX™-I, L-alanyl-L-glutamine, is a dipeptide substitute for L-glutamine. GlutaMAX™-I can be used as a direct substitute for L-glutamine at equimolar concentrations in both adherent and suspension mammalian cell cultures with minimal or no adaptation. GlutaMAX™-I is highly soluble, heat-stable, and improves growth efficiency and performance of mammalian cell culture systems.

GlutaMAX™-I eliminates problems associated with the spontaneous breakdown of L-glutamine into ammonia during incubation, allowing for longer lasting cultures. GlutaMAX™-I supplement is also available pre-supplemented in a variety of media formulations.

1. Aseptically add the required molar concentration to culture

medium.

2. If a lag in growth is observed upon conversion to

GlutaMAX™-I, it is recommended to supplement the culture media with GlutaMAX™-I and L-glutamine at a 3:1 molar ratio (e.g., for 8 mM final concentration, use 6 mM GlutaMAX™-I and 2 mM L-glutamine) for the first and second passages during adaptation to the new culture conditions.
