PARSOL®340 is an oil-soluble UV-B filtercompatible with most commonly used cosmeticingredients. It is a clear, yellowish, viscous liquidwith a characteristic odour of bitter almonds.
PARSOL®340 is used in association with other UV-B and UV-A filters to raise the sun protectionfactor (SPF), and to develop effective broad-spectrum sunscreens and protective cosmeticpreparations for daily use.
PARSOL®340 is photostable and can be used tophotostabilize PARSOL®1789. Such a stabilizationis claimed in the European patent publication EP 0780 119 A1 for light screening compositions inwhich the molar ratio of PARSOL®340 toPARSOL®1789 is less than 0.8.
