摘要：A website print service (12,14), supports print by reference operations for aprint client which may be a print device (10) with an Internet connection or a portablewireless device (16), which then might transfer data transcoded by the print service(12,14) to a print device (10). The protocol and operational structure of the interface tothe remove print service (12) facilitate these operations. The print service (12,14), usingthe protocol, accepts a reference to print content, resolves the reference, obtains theprint content, transcodes the print content into a print device ready format, and allowsthe print client access to the transcoded print data. Use of the print service (12,14) mightcommence with a user of a portable wireless device (16) obtaining a reference to printcontent while web surfing, and communicating that content, for example via a Bluetoothwireless connection to the print device (10), which then uses the print service (12,14) toresolve and process the print by reference communication.
