摘要：Forged grinding members and a method for their manufacture from white castiron having a high chromium content comprising heating a bar of white cast iron of 1.5%to 3% by weight carbon, 8 to 25% by weight chromium, 0% to 2% by weight molybdenumat a temperature of 1000° to 1120°C then forming pieces from the bar at the abovetemperature and thereafter forging these pieces at a second temperature of 1000° to1070°C followed by hardening with optional intermediate isothermal treatment. Theselection of the first and second temperatures depends on the chemical composition ofthe initial material and on the desired martensitic or austenitic micrographic structure ofthe desired product to obtain chromium carbides exclusively of the M.sub. 7 C.sub.3 type.
