教学重点难点

用的单位词:ton, meter, kg, cm。 2.

难点:本课语言知识含量大,生词多,学生阅读、理解会

有一定难度,教师需下大力气帮助学生充分理解并学会朗读。 教学准备

一、 Warm-up and Review

1. Warm-up and arouse the mood of the students.

T: Listen to me carefully and follow me. 听教师的指令和教师一起做出较夸张的动作,如:tall, short, long, short, big, small, old, young, strong, thin.

T: Can you do the actions now? Let’s try again. Let’s see who can do it quickly.

动作做得快的奖给小粘贴。通过热身活动调动他们的学习积极性。

2.Review the things we have learned.

T: You’re so great! Look, boys and girls. I have many pictures. They’re nice, but the people in it can’t speak. Can you dub for them? 你能为他们配音吗?

教师通过课件出示许多图片,让学生练习说句子,复习所学内容。 第一幅图:画上两个人比高矮,高的人和矮的人头上都有说话的图形,让学生配音:I’m taller than you. I’m shorter than you.

第二幅图:出现一张床,显示长度是200 cm, 让学生配音:My bed is 200 cm long.

第三幅图:一个学生正在量身高和体重,显示高度为165 cm, 体重为50 kg, 让学生配音:I’m 165 cm tall. I’m 50 kg.

第四幅图:一只大象站在称上,显示体重为5 tons。T: How heavy is the elephant? 显示单词ton 及音标,让学生自己读出发音。再问:How heavy is it? 让学生配音:The elephant is 5 tons. 此处引出生词:ton。

在让学生配音时,学生说对了教师就点鼠标显示字幕,同时响音乐,给学生以振奋的感觉,并奖励小粘贴,全班一起读一下,起到复习作用。

3. Read and practise the conversion, prepare for the following passage.

T: Can you read these words? 课件显示本课中出现的单位词:ton, meter, centimeter, kilogram. 让学生读。 T: Can you do the conversion? 显示字幕:你会换算吗?练习换算:1 ton= ________kg, 1m = _______cm, 5 tons = _______kg, 30 tons = ________kg, 8 m = _______cm. 二、

Presentation

1. Learn the new words.

T: Do you love the sea? What’s in the sea? 引导学生说出他们知道的海洋生物,如:fish。由于课本中学过的海洋动物较少,教师创设情境:T: There are many fish in the sea. There are still many other animals in it. Do you want to have a look? Let’s go to Qingdao and get to know some animals in the sea. 用课件呈现一列火车开动及到达青岛站的画面,T: Now we are in Qingdao. Look! 出现青岛极地海洋世界大门的画面,T: Wow! We are going to visit the world of marine animals. But we have to surmount some difficulties and pass through the gates. 出现几道大门。

出现第一道大门及问题:Do you know them? Have a try! T: First, let’s learn something about the animals in the sea. Then we can pass through the first gate. 图片显示几个简单易记的动物名称,帮助学生扩大词汇量,如:sea horse, sea lion。随后出现一系列的海洋生物及他们的英文名称,教学生学习新单词,如:squid, lobster, shark, seal, sperm whale, killer whale, 单词配图逐一呈现,单词上同时出现各词的音标,引导学生注意学过的字母及字母组合的发音, 如: i /i/, qu /kw/, er / /, sh / /, ar /a: /, ea /i: /, er /З: /, wh /w/, 让学生自己先试着用学过的音标知识读出发音,然后教师再教,培养他们运用音标自学的能力。

单词学会后快速认读,较熟练后做游戏: Magic eyes. Who has magic eyes? 各种动物图片快速在屏幕上闪烁,停下来时看谁能最快

说出屏幕上的动物名称,发给最快的学生小粘贴。等读出所有单词时,教师点鼠标,音乐响起,同时大门开启,通过第一道关。可与学生击掌庆贺,增强情境的真实感。

2. Learn the knowledge about the sperm whale.

显示第二扇大门及门上的问题:Do you know something about a sperm whale? If you can fill in the table and answer the questions, you can pass through the second gate. 出现sperm whale 的图片, 教师放事先录好的自制录音,请学生记下听到的数字准备完成表格(如下),并准备回答问题。

录音内容: Look, this is a sperm whale. It’s 15 meters long. It’s 35 tons. It has 50 teeth and each tooth up to 20 cm long. Its tail is 8 meters long. It eats squid, lobsters and small shark. It can dive into the deep cold water. 让学生回答问题,教师边填表边说:The length of a sperm whale is 15 meters. The weight of a sperm whale is 35 tons. It has 50 teeth and each up to 20 cm long. 用动作和图片帮助学生理解每个牙齿都达20 cm 长。并教学生读单词,让学生通过联想读出新词:ten, math → length; eight → weight; bee → teeth; ill → kill → skill 。并举例让学生明白skill的意思,如:A monkey can climb trees, so climbing trees is the monkey’s skill. A fish can swim, so swimming is the fish’s skill.

回答完问题、填完表后让学生跟课本录音朗读,并一起朗读,读完后教师点鼠标通过第二道大门。

3. Learn the knowledge about the killer whale.

出现第三道大门及问题:Please fill in the table. Then talk about the differences between a sperm whale and a killer whale.

A killer whale is thinner than a sperm whale. A sperm whale has 50 teeth, but a killer whale has 40 teeth. A sperm whale has more teeth than a killer whale. 说完后教师点鼠标通过第三道大门。

4. Read and complete the exercises on the textbook. 出现第四道大门及问题:Fill in the blanks. Then you can pass.

完成书上的练习,通过第四道门。

三、Consolidation and Extension

1. Change the information of the killer whale into a dialogue.

出现第五道门及问题:Can you make up a dialogue? 让学生填出所缺单词组成一段对话: A: ______________ this? B: It’s a killer whale.

A: ____________ _____________ is it? B: It’s 8 meters long.

A: ____________ _____________ is it? B: It’s 3,600 kg.

A: ____________ _____________ teeth __________ it have?

B: It’s a good swimmer. It can jump out of water. 学生两人一组说一说这段对话,巩固前面学过的问句。通过第五道门并显示字幕及声音:This is the last gate. Congratulations!

Welcome to the world of the marine animals. 欢迎来到海洋世界!放一段海洋动物的录像,展示绚烂多彩的海底世界。 2.Develop the ability of using language.

入提供了可能, 还使学生们在闯关的过程中体验到了合作的乐趣和集体的力量, 对培养他们的集体意识和合作能力都有帮助。教师设计了多种多样的学习和练习活动,由简单的说单词、练换算,又有难度适中的听音填数字的活动,更有编对话、课外阅读等难度较大的活动,设计有梯度,为不同层次的学生提供了展示自我的机会,并注意引导六年级学生对学习的兴趣不仅仅停留在热闹的游戏本身,而是使他们思考更多的问题,激发他们求知和学习的欲望。同时,教师在教学中注意适时地让学生使用他们学过的音标、语法知识进行认读、联想、造句、对话,为他们使用语言提供了空间。教师还在教学中活用教材,将原文中的词和短语组成完整的句子、短文或对话,拓展了课本内容,打破了课本已有的内容和形式,拓宽了学生们的思路、开阔了视野,教师的“活”教为学生的活学活用做出了示范,起到了引导作用。教学中还贯穿了大量的练习,如语法方面的练习、阅读方面的练习等,内容充实,课堂容量大,体现了小学向中学大容量课堂的过渡,给学生今后的学习作了必要的准备。整节课形式多样、教法灵活,关注学生的学习兴趣和能力培养,情景创设得当,评价恰当,使学生乐学、会学,较好实现了教学目标。
