摘要：An apparatus for separating whole blood includes an access device for drawingwhole blood from a source, a blood component separation device, a draw line, a drawpump, and a controller. The blood component separation device separates the drawnwhole blood into a first blood component and a second blood component. The draw linefluidly connects the access device and the blood component separation device, and thedraw pump draws whole blood from the source through the access device and draw lineand into the blood component separation device. The controller controls fluid flowthrough the apparatus and operation of the draw pump. The controller also monitorsthe total volume of whole blood drawn from the source and the total volume of firstblood component collected. The controller stops the draw pump when the first of atarget whole blood volume is withdrawn or a target volume of first blood component iscollected.
