success

What is success? Everyone has his or her own interpretation as I do. To my understanding, success is a spirit of never giving up when we reach our goals.

As we know, Abraham Lincoln, who was elected president of the United States in 1860. His way to this position didn’t go well. In 1832 he lost his job, and then failed in business. In 1834 he was elected to the state legislature, but he was defeated for Speaker of the House in 1835. In 1856 he was defeated for the nomination of vice-president, and in 1858 he was again defeated for the Senate. There is no doubt that Lincoln is a winner. But what contributed to his success? It’s the spirit of never giving up.

Kim is an adventurer. In 1971, he organized South Korea’s first expedition to the Himalayas. They failed. The following year, they tried again. Disaster struck again. Kim says:”I will find no peace until I conquer the Himalaya peak.” Could we think he is a loser? No. He is also a winner because of his perseverant.

Everyone is longing for success. It’s not a dream. Just believe in ourselves and be perseverant, then success is coming and the goal is closer.
